Gearing up for the release of his forthcoming film based on the life of former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Main Atal Hoon, Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi recently shared a lot of deets about slipping into the shoes of the late politician. Stating that “he was scared” of playing the character, Tripathi opened up on how he feels inspired and motivated. Besides that, the actor also shed light on his poetic side, adding that he remains incomparable till the present time. Pankaj Tripathi on playing Atal Bihari Vajpayee On playing the role of the former prime minister, Pankaj Tripathi began by heaping praises and told ANI, “He had a personality and aura. After studying and reading about him, you won’t get a feeling of a politician as he was actually a poet. He had such a unique personality. After having learned about him so much, I feel full of knowledge and wisdom. It has changed my thought process a lot.” The actor also noted that people will get to hear more poems from his side as he feels inspired by Vajpayee. ‘I was scared…’ says Pankaj Tripathi Speaking about the kind of influence Vajpayee had on his fellow politicians and even the opposition leaders, Tripathi said it is difficult to find a person like him or someone who is against him. “His fellow politicians and even his enemies admired him and were very influenced by his principles,” he said. Further speaking on facing any challenge while taking on the role of the former prime minister, the actor said he was a bit scared about doing justice to the role. “When the role came to me, I was scared about whether I would be able to do justice to him. His journey and history have always motivated me. He is also one of my favourite politicians and I have attended his political rallies,” he continued.
