Pahlaj Nihalani can't even lie properly: Anurag Kashyap on 'Udta Punjab' row
The battle between Pahlaj Nihalani, CBFC chief and Anurag Kashyap, the co-producer of Udta Punjab is getting more dramatic by the day.
While Kashyap has claimed that have finally received the letter of suggested cuts fromt he revising committe, he says that he will continue to fight for the release of the film.
Earlier on Wednesday afternoon, news channels approached Pahlaj Nihalani to comment on the 89 cuts that they have suggested to the makers of Udta Punjab.
Nihalani clarified to TV reporters that they have followed due process and that the letter has been sent.

Firstpost contacted Anurag Kashyap to ask him about these claims, and he laughed it off saying, "Just saw this. He can't even lie properly."
When the media asked Kumar Vishwas about Nihalani's claims that Kashyap has taken money from AAP, he said that their party has no affiliation to the director. He further added that this issue cannot be solved by pushing Punjab's drug problem under the carpet.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that Indian Film & TV Directors' Association (IFTDA) is going to hold a press conference in solidarity for freedom of expression in Mumbai at 4 pm on Wednesday.
Kashyap has also met with his fellow producers and the film's cast, including Shahid Kapoor to decide the next course of action on the issue of the cuts.
Sources have informed Firstpost that there is no basis in the fact that Balaji Motion Pictures (the co-producers of Udta Punjab along with Phantom Films) has backed off from the film. They are willing to fight for its release.
