Pahlaj Nihalani all set to release song praising PM Modi
Pahlaj Nihalani is a busy man. Apart from having to keep a close watch on the sanskaar quotient of our films, he also has to deal with colleagues who are appalled by his way of working. And amid all that, he has even found the time to create a song for Independence Day. The song has been dedicated to his 'super hero' Narendra Modi.
According to The Times of India, "The song, composed and written by the team that created the BJP campaign song 'Har Har Modi, ghar , ghar Modi', is set for release on August 15."
Nihalani told The Times of India, "This is a sequel to the first song that we created as a team, which was to showcase Narendra Modiji as the leader. This song is dedicated to the PM. No other PM has ever given such direct benefits to the people with his actions."
He told film journalist Subhas K Jha: "I felt the time was right for another patriotic song. I hope my song Mera desh mahaan mera desh jawaan would bond the youngsters of the country in a collective clasp of nationalism."
Considering his troubled tenure at the censor board, Nihalani's move doesn't seem completely in the interest of the nation's youth. His colleagues, BJP supporters like him, had recently turned on him accusing him of being on a power trip and making the censor board a one-man show. The film industry too had taken note of Nihalani's difficult ways and the complaint had reached the doors of minister of state, information and broadcasting, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore. There were even rumours that members of the film industry sought Nihalani's removal from the board. It was a particularly sticky situation as fellow BJP sympathisers and colleagues in the CBFC, led the chorus that demanded his resignation. Several members spoke to the media too about Nihalani's high handed ways.
Though the storm seems to have blown over for the time being, it seems like Nihalani is in no mood to leave his job to the whims of his colleagues. This song produced by him has the following line: "Jo sapna dekha Bapu-Modi ne, usse mil jul kar humein sach kar dikhana hai...'
Is the high praise for the country's Prime Minister the CBFC chief's way to insure himself against adversities in his career path?
