SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which features the ensemble cast of Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Olivia Morris, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, and Shriya Saran among others, created history last year as it brought India’s first ever Oscar in the Best Song Category with Naatu Naatu!
Now, in the 96th Academy Awards, epic action drama has again dominated with his sheer presence.
Oscar-nominated actors Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt paid tribute to all the stunt coordinators and stunt performers for their contribution to cinema across the world. While the duo was expressing their gratitude for these unsung heroes, the action sequence of RRR was playing in the montage behind the stars.
Apart from that, a glimpse of Naatu Naatu was shown while presenting the Best Original Song trophy.
Looking back last year, Naatu Naatu live performance by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava at the Oscars received a standing ovation from the crowd. It was introduced on stage by Deepika Padukone, who was one of the presenters last year.
Also starring Ray Stevenson and Alison Doody in prominent roles, RRR is one of the highest-grossing Indian films in the world with collections of approximately Rs 1400 crore.
Talking about this year’s Oscars, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer bagged 7 awards in the major categories of Best Film, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, Best Actor, Best Cinematography and others. It earned around $900 million at the global box office.
