The Oscar nominee lost out the coveted golden statue to British actor Eddie Redmayne this year. And normally the moment when you realise you haven’t won the Oscar is heartbreaking enough but this Michael Keaton moment will make you want to cry.

Birdman actor Michael Keaton lost out the coveted golden statue to British actor Eddie Redmayne,  this year. And normally the moment when you realise you haven’t won the Oscar is heartbreaking enough but this Michael Keaton moment will make you want to cry.

After Keaton realised he hadn’t won the Oscar for Best Performance, he quickly stuffed his acceptance speech notes back in his pocket. And this sad, heart breaking moment has been doing the rounds of social media and it captures this heart wrenching moment.

The veteran actor was up against Eddie Redmayne for the prestigious award, and already had his speech prepared for his win. Sadly, when last year’s best actress winner Cate Blanchett announced the Theory of Everything actor had won, cameras showed Keaton stuffing his speech back into his tux pocket.
