Omertà first look poster: Rajkumar Rao plays terrorist Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh in Hansal Mehta's upcoming thriller

Hansal Mehta, who has directed critically acclaimed movies such as Shahid, CityLights, and Aligarh, has presented the first look poster of his upcoming movie Omertà.

Omertà stars Mehta's frequent collaborator Rajkumar Rao in the lead role. The movie's story revolves around the 1994 kidnappings of Westerners in India for which Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh served time in prison. Omertà also tells the story about the plotting and subsequent murder of Wall Street journalist Daniel Pearl in 2002. Rajkumar Rao plays the role of the dreaded, notorious terrorist Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh. Omertà also stars Rajesh Tailang, Rupinder Nagra, Kewal Arora, and Timothy Ryan Hickernell. The film has been written by Mukul Dev and Hansal Mehta.

Omertà had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and was met with widespread critical acclaim. A review in Variety said, "At the end of this slickly mounted film, there’s no lack of questions still dangling nor hoped-for insights that fail to arrive. Nonetheless, while you’re watching it, Mehta’s freely imagined biopic provides a fascinating Rorschach of a figure who is, unfortunately, truly a man for our times."

The trailer for the movie will be out on 14 March, and the movie will be released on 20 April.
