The 39-year-old actress, in a tweet, said she was surprised at the amount of speculation and rumours that were floating around in the media. She then made it clear that she was not going to sell her stake in the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kings XI Punjab, which she co-owns with Ness. Preity also thanked people for their support.

In another tweet, Preity reiterated her displeasure with media speculations by saying that news agencies were reporting information from unreliable sources. She asked media and the people not to indulge in hearsay and said there were many more important issues in India which required more attention than her case against Ness.

Meanwhile, Preity will return to Mumbai on Thursday night to give a recorded statement to the police over the case. "Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria said that the police have written to Preity Zinta's lawyer, asking her to record a supplementary statement," said a report in IBNLive.

Preity is a renowned actress in Bollywood who is famous not only for her roles in films like 'Veer-Zaara', 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' and 'Salaam Namaste' but also for winning the Godfrey's Mind of Steel Award for bravery. Preity won that bravery award for testifying against the underworld in the Bharat Shah case of 2003.

Ironically, Ness Wadia's father, Nusli Wadia had come forward yesterday, alleging that he had got calls from well known underworld mobster Ravi Pujari, asking him to stop 'harassing' Zinta if he did not want his business interests to suffer. The Mumbai police is now investigating the complaint.

Zinta had no comment to make on the latest development.
