Salman Khan’s teary-eyed images made news when he recently broke down at his producer friend Rajjat Barjatya's funeral. Barjatya passed away on Friday night, 29 July after a long battle with cancer. Salman’s display of emotions showed the strong bond he shared with the producer, who gave him films that catapulted him to stardom – Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Koun…!. While Bollywood has always celebrated the bond between actors and directors, the actor-producer jodis have not been spoken about much. While they delivered many critically acclaimed films like Zeher and Gangster, they have also had many duds like Crook and Tum Mile. Their latest film Mr. X was also a flop. Having worked together in films like Jeet, Judwaa, Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Nadiadwala’s directorial debut Kick, they have been best friends for over two decades. Speaking to The Times of India, about their friendship, Sajid had said, “The first 10 years of our friendship were outstanding but with age and marriage, I have sobered down. Salman is still the same. I can’t keep up anymore. After delivering two hit films from the Don series, they will be coming together again in 2017 with Raees, which will be produced by both Excel Entertainment and Red Chillies Entertainment, Shah Rukh’s production house. But behind the camera too they are thick friends. In an interview to a magazine Kareena had said that Karan Johar is her male best friend. Karan Johar has been the producer for at least five of her films so far – Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kurbaan, We Are Family, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu and Gori Tere Pyaar Mein. This was followed by three more films under the same banner. Though Kill Dill and Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl did not perform well, Ranveer Singh is back to star in Aditya Chopra’s directorial Befikre, which will release this year. Speaking of Aditya’s role in his career, Ranveer Singh said to PTI, “I was from nowhere, yet this guy had faith in me. During the first audition of Band Baaja Baarat, he saw my entire career unfolding. So, he saw a potential in me in the first shot. I owe my career to him.”
