Nora Fatehi sustains minor injuries after drunk driver hits car, actress says 'saw my life flash before me'

Bollywood actor and dancer Nora Fatehi was injured in a car accident in Mumbai on Saturday, December 20 while en route to the Sunburn Festival, police and sources confirmed. The collision occurred when a vehicle, allegedly driven by a drunk driver, rammed into the car she was travelling in, leaving her with minor injuries and a slight concussion, authorities said.

According to reports, the accident took place on Link Road in suburban Amboli as Fatehi was headed to the music festival, where she was scheduled to appear alongside international DJ David Guetta. Her team quickly rushed her to a nearby hospital, where doctors conducted scans and confirmed no serious internal injuries, only a mild concussion and swelling from the impact.

Taking to Instagram Stories later on Saturday, Fatehi shared a video message to reassure fans.

“Hey guys, I’m okay. Yes, I was in a really serious car accident today… a drunk person that was driving under the influence smashed my car,” she said, describing how the force of the crash threw her across the vehicle and caused her to hit her head against the window. She added that she was grateful to be alive and well, despite the pain.

Fatehi, who called the incident “one of the most terrifying and traumatic moments” of her life, urged people not to drink and drive, stressing that such behaviour endangers innocent lives. “It’s 2025. I cannot believe that this is even a conversation,” she said, expressing disbelief that someone could be driving under the influence in broad daylight.

Despite medical advice to rest, Fatehi chose to fulfil her professional commitment and went ahead with her planned appearance at the Sunburn 2025 event later the same day. She said, “I don’t let anything get in the way of my work, my ambition, and any opportunities that I get. So, no drunk driver was going to get in that kind of opportunity. I worked way too hard to reach these milestones and moments. That might look crazy to you, but long story short, don’t drink and drive.”

Authorities have detained the driver believed to be responsible for the crash and are investigating the incident further. As of now, officials have not disclosed additional details about charges or the condition of the other driver.
