No plans for Doctor Strange sequel, confirms Benedict Cumberbatch; actor admits MCU is 'quite crowded'
While Benedict Cumberbatch has made a cameo in Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and now will be seen in Avengers: Infinity War, the prospect of seeing him in yet another standalone Doctor Strange film is a bit uncertain.

As the Marvel's upcoming spectacle Avengers: Infinity War makes way for its theatrical release, fans across the world can't seem to contain their excitement. Every minute detail regarding the film is being talked about — from the stars to storyplots; superhero appearances to spin offs. Benedict Cumberbatch stars as Doctor Strange in the film and is part of the bevy of superheroes who appear in the Marvel magnum opus.
Cumberbatch made his Marvel debut with his standalone film Doctor Strange in 2016, which also raked in huge moolah at the box office. While, since then, he has made a cameo in Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and now will be seen in Avengers: Infinity War, the prospect of seeing him in yet another standalone film is a bit uncertain.
When the actor was asked about the same, he said, "Not at the moment, no. The masterplan is continually in flux, so it would be out of order for me to speculate," as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
Avengers: Infinity War promises to be quite an explosion of sorts. Talking about the upcoming Marvel outing, during interviews around the release of Thor: Raganarok, Cumberbatch was quoted to have said: "What we've seen happen within the Marvel Cinematic Universe is this ever-expanding couture of superheroes. And I think now we're at the stage where this universe, even within our world, has gotten quite crowded and it's just about to explode into other dimensions," reports iberianet.com.
Cumberbatch's screen persona, Doctor Strange is a surgeon-turned-sorcerer who with his special magical powers protects Earth from other celestial and mystical dark powers.
