New York-based hotelier Vikram Chatwal flew into Mumbai recently with a new bottle blonde by his side, Angela Lindvall, for a short break, after lounging about with Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan, in recent times.

While Chatwal holidays with his new girl in India, his ex-wife, Delhi-based model-turned-fashion entrepreneur, Priya Sachdev, works away at bringing legendary fashion designer, Diane Von Furstenberg to Mumbai.

Chatwal and Priya separated not too long ago and have a daughter, Safira.

Priya is hosting a big party in honour of ex-royal Furstenberg, on Thursday, at Michelin starred Chinese restaurant, Hakkasan in Mumbai. Furstenberg was earlier married to a German prince, Egon Furstenberg from the House of Furstenberg, and interestingly, even after their divorce, she continued to keep the Furstenberg name, launching her brand, DVF subsequently.

DVF easily is one of the most popular fashion brands globally and her India trip suggests she is set to seduce Indians with her classic designs. Right now, there is a mad scramble amongst the ladies who lunch, practicing to pronounce the designer’s name right at the party and of course, the personal photo op once they are done with the mandatory red carpet outside the venue.

The guest list for the Furstenberg-Sachdev party will comprise the usual whirl of botox-loving, handbag flashing ladies wearing their designer togs to impress the photographers more than the fashion elite at the party. It’s almost like New York Fashion Week in Mumbai come Thursday, except it’s not.
