Sherlock is back after an almost two year break and are we excited! BBC has finally released a new trailer for it’s Christmas special set in Victorian London, a few months after they released the sneak peak at Comic-Con in July .
“The stage is set. The curtain rises. We are ready to begin,” says Holmes at the start of the trailer. Goosebumps yet anyone?
Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and John Watson (Martin Freeman) are preparing for war in the newest trailer for BBC One’s “Sherlock”.
The trailer shows the two detectives walking down crowded 19th-century England streets, running through foggy and dark alleys, discussing their ghosts from their respective pasts and Watson extremely angry at Sherlock’s refusal to wear his trademark deerstalker hat.
We don’t get a lot out of the trailer though, just a few hints at what the plot might be. There’s a frantic woman screaming “Holmes”, a dead body in a hallway, and guns, lots of guns. Steven Moffat, the show’s co-creator had previously confirmed that the upcoming special will be independent of the much awaited fourth season.
“We all have a past, Watson,” Holmes says in the trailer. “Ghosts – they’re the shadows that define our every sunny day.”
Bring on the horse-drawn buggies, corsets, men in suits and Watson’s manly mustache. The episode is rumoured to come out on Christmas day.
