Twitter[/caption] Ted Sarandos, Netflix chief content officer, said in a event that if comparisons were to be drawn between the release of The Christmas Chronicles with a traditional theatrical opening, then the viewership garnered by the film would approximately translate to a gross collection of $200 million. He also said that none of Kurt Russell’s films have been watched by those many people in the first week of release. Russell last featured in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which according to the publication, amassed $183 million in its first week. Directed by Clay Kaytis ( of The Angry Birds Movie fame), the film revolves around a pair of siblings who are given the responsibility to help Santa and save Christmas, after Santa’s sleigh crash lands because of them. The Christmas Chronicle opened on the streaming service on 22 November. The film stars, along with Russell, Judah Lewis and Darby Camp.
