Sonakshi Sinha, who is currently basking in the success of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Netflix’s magnum opus Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, reveals that she is uncomfortable doing intimate scenes on screen.

“I’m on my 35th film now and I still stand there! A good actor will always get work. In my entire career, I don’t think I have lost out on anything that has had a kissing scene or intimate scene,” said Sonakshi while talking to ETimes.

She added, “I’ve always made it clear to my director, the filmmaker with whom I’m working that ‘This is something I’m not comfortable doing.’ It is totally up to you. If you still want to go ahead with me, if you think as an actor, I would bring something to the table, I will do the film but find a way around that, let’s work it out or you are very free to go to someone else who is comfortable doing that.”

In a recent interview with Zoom, Sinha opened up about her choices of roles and said, “You can very clearly see the shift in the kind of roles that I have been playing from Akira, so I have not just said it for the sake of saying it. I am staying true to my words. I don’t think I can ever go back to being called maal. It is a step everybody has to take. As an artiste, you have a responsibility. There are a lot of people who look up to you. I do stand by the fact that yes I was young and was getting the opportunity to be a part of some very big films. Nobody in their right mind would have said no at that point in time. So I did them, but yes, certain things did feel off even then. Then you grow and people notice it, talk about it, and bring it to your attention. It’s criticism, but it’s constructive.”
