Netflix’s ‘Emily In Paris’ Season 5 Review: From Paris to Rome, how Lily Collin’s aka Emily’s life changes

I am one of those huge fans of ‘Emily In Paris’, whether it is in Rome or Paris, it is like traveling to two of my favourite cities with our adorable Emily (Lily Collin). And nobody does it better than her. If you love over the top fashion and history, food and travel make you feel happy, ‘Emily In Paris’ is a series to be relished. Though full of fluff, ‘Emily In Paris’ fulfills it’s purpose of entertaining.

Don’t ask about the storyline because it’s mostly the same in all the seasons and Season 5 is no exception, except for the detour. Now as the head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city.

A still from Netflix’s ‘Emily In Paris’ Season 5

Just when Emily was thinking that she was settling down for a life in Rome, things turn bitter as a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks. Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle, until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships. Tackling conflict with honesty, Emily emerges with deeper connections, renewed clarity, and a readiness to embrace new possibilities.

This is one of the shows that I totally watch for fun and definitely don’t look for depth, immersive storyline, suspense and craftsmanship. When you are watching Emily in Paris, one should put their brain in the closet and go with the flow of high-end fashion and luxury travel, food and most importantly good-looking and well-turned out, impeccably dressed people.

There is chaos as Emily’s friend Mindy develops fondness for Emily’s ex-boyfriend, Alfie. It is undoubtedly chaotic and who says love is smooth. But I totally miss Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) as we don’t get enough of him in this season. No matter what, I always felt, she is the right man for Emily and not Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini).

Netflix’s ‘Emily In Paris’ Season 5

Emily in Paris , can be called one of the best fashion series and it is a beautiful comparison of the fashion scenes in Rome and Paris. Rome fashion is far more creative and bolder as compared to Paris which is grounded and realistic.  The series throws light on how Emily in Paris has come a long way. Not just Rome and romance, but it’s way too much going on in Emily’s life that’s worth the watch. With very little substance, it’s a classic rom-com that deserves ever bit of your time!

Rating : 3 out of 5
