Netflix’s Dhoom Dhaam Movie Review: Pratik Gandhi & Yami Gautam’s film has all the required sizzle for an entertaining comedy

Language: Hindi

Director: Rishab Seth

Cast: Pratik Gandhi and Yami Gautam

Pratik Gandhi and Yami Gautam’s Dhoom Dhaam is indeed a brilliant love story breaking away from the stereotype Bollywood love stories. It is a cracking wedding theme rom-com. With its right twist and turns and sudden gun giggles on their wedding night, makes for a brilliant watch. The film is filled with genuinely hilarious scenes and dialogues

Pratik Gandhi nails his role as Dr Veer, a veterinary surgeon from Ahmedabad who opts for an arranged marriage with Bombay girl Koyal Chaddha (Yami Gautam). Netflix’s Dhoom Dhaam is a unique love story and not about candy floss childish love. It is about how two completely different individuals fall in love on their marriage night amidst the gun giggles.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

There are enough funny moments from the film which will leave you in fits of laughter where Vir who is hardly vir (strong) had to strip his clothes and dance in his boxers to avoid the gun shots. Indeed, Pratik Gandhi has aced the comedy act with a very individualistic garnish just like his performance in Madgaon Express .

A scene from Netflix’s Dhoom Dhaam

Dhoom Dhaam makes us believe that arranged marriages can be a rollercoaster fun ride too. It’s a  marriage of chalk and cheese. The magic of digital platforms is the emphasis that is given on storytelling and when the story becomes the hero. Though the story here is nothing out of the box, yet all the characters play an important role including Koyal Chaddha’s (Yami Gautam). There isn’t anything abrupt and each scene is connected to the other. And you won’t get bored even for a moment, the movie is captivating from the beginning to the end.

A single plot that isn’t one bit overstretched and that is the beauty of crisp content on the digital platform unlike Bollywood big budget films high on unnecessary dances, songs and fancy locations. Not a serious watch and not a film  that you can go back to watching again and again and look into different angles, but definitely Netflix’s Dhoom Dhaam is your perfect Valentine’s day binge!
