Netflix’s ‘Adolescence’ actor Stephen Graham won the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series at the Emmys 2025. And he signed off his speech with a Namaste and stole the show.
The actor said in his speech, “This kind of thing doesn’t normally happen to a kid like me. I’m just a mixed-race kid from a block of flats in a place called Kirkby. So for me to be here today in front of my peers and be acknowledged by you is the utmost humbling thing I could ever imagine in my life. And it shows you that any dream is possible.”
He added, “There’s too many people to thank,” he continued, “but I am gonna thank my friends and family — without you none of this is possible, and thank you for helping me, something I can’t do on my own.”
The star thanked his dad “for taking me to the video shop when I was a kid and starting my education in film,” his two kids, and his wife Hannah Walters, “who I love with every ounce of my being. You are my rock, you are my world, you are my soulmate. And you know and I know, without you I would be dead. From the bottom of my heart I love you with everything I have.”
“The Studio” has made Emmy history with its 12th trophy, becoming the winningest comedy series ever in a season. “Severance” also has won multiple awards, with Britt Lower earning best actress in a drama and Tramell Tillman’s historic win for best supporting actor in a drama.
But it was Netflix’s ‘ _Adolescence_ ’ star Owen Cooper who became the youngest winner of the award at the age of 15 who won in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
