The ending of The Royals does have a royal twist when Prince Aviraaj realises that he is not the real royal as he was not the son of the Maharaja of Morpur. The show ends dramatically where there is a public announcement made and the people of Morpur get to know that the real king is a gay and he and his wife had an arrangement of an open marriage.

The Royals  is about Aviraaj Singh (Ishaan Khatter), a polo-playing new-age Rajkumar. He is a ladies’ man and has a lot of other interests other than taking care of the haveli. The royals of Morpur are all about external showsha. Their lives revolve around expensive artifacts, exotic wines, heirloom diamonds, saris and one hidden secret, the late Maharaja’s gay partner, one on whose name he has written off the entire wealth except for the palace and its artifacts.
