Netflix takes a detour, reveals viewership data to substantiate massive response to You, Sex Education

Lifetime’s not-so-romantic thriller series You was recently picked up by Netflix. According to the streaming service, the acquisition is working in everyone’s favour. As Netflix’s official Twitter account, Penn Badgeley-starrer drama is expected to gain more than 40 million viewers in its first month of streaming.

The first time viewers for You are flooding social media with their thoughts and have developed analysis on whether is it okay to have a crush on Badgeley’s character Joe Goldberg despite him being a murderous stalker. The TVLine reports suggest season 2 will be based on Hidden Bodies, the second book in Caroline Kepnes’ series, which relocates Joe to Los Angeles for more family-friendly shenanigans.
