Actress Tabu, who worked with director Vishal Bhardwaj on Maqbool and Haider, is back with another film, Khufiya. The suspense thriller, which also stars Ali Fazal and Wamiqa Gabbi in prominent roles, will release on Netflix India on 5 October.
In the latest, the streaming giant shared the film’s promo alongside the release date on Instagram. Netflix India’s caption read, “Kuch raaz, raaz hi rahe to behtar hai (Some secrets are better kept as secrets). But not this one (eye emoji).”

In yet another post shared by the OTT platform on Instagram, Tabu and Vishal Bhardwaj display a heartwarming moment together. Netflix India captioned the post, “Our love for this duo is not classified information.”
One user commented, “Too much talent in one picture.” To this, the streaming giant replied with, “The dynamic duo we’ve all been waiting for!”
Another user added, “Tabu + Vishal = Suspense + Thrill (Deadly Duo).”

Tabu and Vishal Bhardwaj’s collaborations
Tabu and Vishal Bhardwaj collaborated on the latter’s 2003 gangster drama Maqbool, which starred the actress opposite Irrfan Khan. Then, in 2014, the actor-director duo joined forces again for the crime drama Haider. In this, Tabu played Haider’s mother, portrayed by Shahid Kapoor. Both films were adaptations of Shakespeare’s classic plays Macbeth and Hamlet, respectively.
Besides filmmaker’s two directorial, Tabu acted in Meghna Gulzar’s 2015 film, Talvar, co-written by Vishal Bhardwaj.

Vishal Bhardwaj’s spy thriller starring Tabu is based on Amar Bhushan’s espionage novel titled ‘Escape to Nowhere’. It also features actors like Ali Fazal, Wamiqa Gabbi and Ashish Vidyarthi in prominent roles.

Vishal Bhardwaj recently directed Fursat, a 2023 Hindi-language musical-romance short film. The film features Khufiya star Wamiqa Gabbi and Ishaan Khatter in the lead roles. The filmmaker collaborated with Gabbi for his short film in Prime Video, Modern Love Mumbai, last year.
