Navjot Singh Sidhu on Shah Rukh Khan: 'I asked him once how he planned to go to Bollywood, he said...'

Shah Rukh Khan is arguably the greatest success story of an outsider coming and ruling the Hindi film industry. On Star Sports’ Cricket Live, former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu was speaking about the ‘Dunki’ star and shared an anecdote of meeting him during his television days.

He revealed, “I once met him at Model School ground. At that time, he was doing Circus and there was a show called Fauji. I asked him what he wanted to do and he said he wanted to go to Bollywood. When I enquired how he planned to do so without having a relative, and with the competition there, how did he plan to be successful? That is when he said, ‘I don’t compete with anyone but myself.’ I have never forgotten this incident. That day I knew that this man would go a long way. He is as humble as he is successful.”

Sidhu added, “ Shah Rukh Khan is quite an honorary figure. I have heard from Abhishek Bachchan that SRK is the most secure person ever in the industry. He often encourages other actors.”
