The Indian film industry has come up with some brilliant content in the recent past. The 69th edition of the National Film Awards took place on Tuesday, 17 October, in Delhi. The winner list included names such as Alia Bhatt , Kriti Sanon , Allu Arjun and Karan Johar, among others. Bhatt was given the title of Best Actress for her stellar performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. The diva dropped a picture of receiving the honour from President Droupadi Murmu on social media. Alia Bhatt wrote on her official Instagram title, “A photo, a moment, a memory for life”.

Alia Bhatt shared her Best Actress Award with Kriti Sanon, who was honoured for her work in Laxman Utekar’s directorial Mimi. Posting glimpses of the proud moment with Alia Bhatt and Allu Arjun, the stunner captioned her Insta post, “Happy faces sharing a proud moment together”. Telugu heartthrob Allu Arjun bagged the Best Actor Award for his portrayal of Pushpa Raj in Pushpa: The Rise. The Tollywood star penned a heartfelt note along with a few pictures of Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon and Waheeda Rehman. He wrote on the photo-sharing app, “What a lovely lady … wishing her more in this journey… and hopefully a movie together soon”.

Filmmaker Karan Johar who financed the biographical drama Shershaah starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani bagged the Special Jury Award for the film. His Instagram post went something like this, “Humbled…Honoured and just so Happy to receive the prestigious national award, the SPECIAL JURY AWARD for SHERSHAAH…. "

Vivek Agnihotri’s film The Kashmir Files won the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Film on National Integration. The ecstatic director also shared on social media, “Thank you #NationalAwards for this most prestigious award. Award to #TheKashmirFiles is a tribute to all the victims of religious terrorism. Specially, in today’s context it shows what happens when humanity is absent.”

Aside from them, Pankaj Tripathi also received the Best Supporting Actor award for his performance in the film Mimi. Additionally, R Madhavan’s directorial project Rocketry: The Nambi Effect bagged the Best Feature Film. For the unversed, this was R Madhavan’s primary venture as a director. Apart from directing the project, he also played the protagonist in the movie. Yesteryear, veteran and legendary actress Waheeda Rehman was also honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for outstanding contribution to Indian cinema by President Murmu.
