Narcos: Mexico — Diego Luna, Scoot McNairy to reprise roles in season 2 of Netflix show

Netflix confirmed on 13 December that Diego Luna will return for the second season of Narcos: Mexico.  In addition, True Detective star Scoot McNairy will feature alongside Luna.

Luna will reprise his role as drug cartel boss Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo whereas McNairy will essay the part of the mysterious narrator of the show, unveiled in the finale episode of the first instalment. He was an off-screen character throughout the length of Narcos: Mexico.

As per moviefone.com, Luna's presence in the second season had been cast in doubt since he is also a part of Disney+ show on Star WarsRogue One character Cassian Andor.

The follow up season of Narcos: Mexico was announced on 5 December, and the unit recently started shooting in Mexico City, reports Entertainment Weekly. However, no premiere date has been released yet.

Narcos: Nexico, which premiered on 16 November, is a companion series to the popular crime drama series Narcos, focusing on the illegal drug trade in Mexico. It travels back in time to track the birth of Mexico's drug war and the origins of the Guadalajara cartel.
