Nani, Akkineni Nagarjuna will unite for Sriram Aditya's next; Ashwini Dutt to bankroll multi-starrer

It is the season of multi-starrers in Tollywood. After Prabhas, Rana Daggubati starrer Baahubali and SS Rajamouli’s next yet-untitled project with Ram Charan and Jr NTR, it is the turn of actors Nani and Akkineni Nagarjuna to join hands for Sriram Aditya’s next project which was officially launched last month. In an exclusive chat with Firstpost, Sriram opened up about the project which will feature two of the most exciting actors of Telugu filmdom. Image from Twitter/@SerialKaSoap[/caption] “I’ve grown up watching Nagarjuna sir’s films and to get to work with him today is so exciting. I’m sure not many directors get this opportunity so early on in their career. In case of Nani, I’ve always wanted to work with him and I’m sure the experience is going to be absolutely fun,” Sriram told Firstpost, adding that the film cannot be segmented into one particular genre. “Just like my previous films, I can’t categorise this film into one genre. It’ll be a multi-genre film with beautiful emotions and great visuals. The onscreen relationship between Nani and Nagarjuna will be the film’s major highlight,” he said. The project is slated to go on floors from next week. “The first schedule will be in Hyderabad. We’ve almost finalised the heroines and once they’re officially on board, we will begin shooting,” said Sriram, who is not new to multi-starrers. In fact, his last directorial, Shamanthakamani, featured four popular Telugu heroes in the lead. Asked if he has any fascination for multi-starrer projects, he said, “I go by what the script demands. Shamanthakamani is the kind of project that has scope for all the heroes; otherwise they wouldn’t even have signed the film. The same applies to this project as well.” To be bankrolled by Aswini Dutt, Sriram assures the project will be made on a large scale. “I’m honoured to be working with such a prestigious banner and this association comes with a lot of responsibility.” Meanwhile, both Nagarjuna and Nani are currently busy wrapping up their respective projects. While Nagarjuna is busy shooting the climax of Ram Gopal Varma’s Officer in Mumbai, Nani is on the verge of completing Krishnarjuna Yuddham in which he will be seen in dual roles.
