Nandamuri Balakrishna's 101st film to be directed by Puri Jagannadh: Is it Auto Johnny remade?
Nandamuri Balakrishna has teamed up with Puri Jagannadh for his 101st film.
Far from resting on the success of his most recent release Gauthamiputra Satakarni, Nandamuri Balakrishna is already busy with his next project.
And this — his 101st film — will be directed by Puri Jagannadh. Puri has a spate of hits under his belt, including Pokkiri, Businessman and Temper, which is probably what makes his teaming up with Balakrishna more interesting.
An official launch event was held for the film on Thursday, 9 March 2017. The film itself is tentatively slated to release this September.
The launch event, held at the Tulasi Vanam Temple in Kukatpally, was attended by Baahubali director SS Rajamouli, reports International Business Times. It was Rajamouli who clapped the board for the mahurat shot.
Balakrishna's 101st movie is produced by Venigalla Ananda Prasad under his banner Bhavya Creations.
Hindustan Times quoted a source close to the production as saying, the film would showcase Balakrishna in a new light. “After working in a historical drama, Balakrishna sir was on the lookout for a script that will feature him in a never-seen-before avatar and when Puri pitched his story, he found just exactly what he was looking for and immediately gave his nod. A popular Bollywood stylist will be hired to take care of Balakrishna’s look in the film.”
Deccan Chronicle reported that the film may be a reworking of Auto Johnny.
Nandamuri Balakrishna has been caught on camera once again as he slaps a fan during a political rally in the Anatpur district in Andhra Pradesh.
