Nach Baliye 8, pre-finale episode: The finalists battle it out in a fierce face-off; Anil-Arjun provide comic relief
Here are the events leading upto the season finale of Nach Baliye 8.
The Nach Baliye 8 grand finale is finally here. Finalists Divyanka Tripathi – Vivek Dahiya, Sanaya Irani – Mohit Sehgal and Abigail Pande – Sanam Johar are just a step away from winning the trophy. Apart from the performances of the three finalists, all the other contestants that participated this season, will also be given the opportunity to perform on the D-day.
Not just that, winners of the previous seasons — two popular television couples — Amir Ali-Sanjeeda Shaikh and Jay Bhanushali-Mahi Vijj, will also be burning the dance floor on the finale day.
To make the finale more starry and glamourous, some of the Bollywood stars came on the show this weekend. So there was the cast of Mubarakan – Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Ileana D’cruz and Athiya Shetty, who made an appearance to promote their film, on Saturday, while Jagga Jasoos star Ranbir Kapoor will entertain with his antics on Sunday.
Anil and Arjun are introduced as wild card entries who’ve made it straight to the finale. They sit right next to the judges as Divyanka and Vivek gear up for their final performance.
The two perform a romantic rain dance act to 'Har Kisi Ko' from Boss. Anil and Arjun are all praise of their performance along with the other judges. Judge Mohit Suri points out that the couple are in sync and Vivek writes an emotional love letter for Divyanka and reads it out to her.
He talks about how no one ever saw how hard she works and how tired she is behind that lovely smile of hers. He even promises to live up to her expectations and how they will be a role model to their kids. Divyanka gets teary-eyed and hugs him after he finishes reading.
Show host Karan Tacker asks Arjun and Anil if their bond is as good in real life as it is in Mubarakan. The uncle-nephew duo takes to the stage to perform a little and entertains the audience with their goofiness. The two take to the dance floor and groove on the title track of Anil's 90's film Kishan Kanhaiya and end the performance with a hug.
Arjun is asked what Anil's worst fear is and both of them end up writing ‘wife’. Anil is asked about Arjun’s educational qualifications and he writes ‘PhD in acting’. Anil is asked about his affairs when he pleads to not expose him.
Sanaya and Mohit gear up for their performance. They dance to the remixed version of 'Dil Kya Kare' and flaunt their salsa moves. Mohit prepares an emotional video for Sanaya without her knowledge where he talks about how much he loves her and how much he wishes he was better for her. He feels if Sanaya had chosen a dance partner who was good at dancing, it would have been much easier for her.
Sanaya breaks down seeing the video and says that a non-dancer’s journey was tough and it has been extremely difficult for Mohit as well as her since he kept apologizing to her for making mistakes. Sanaya gathers herself and praises Mohit's efforts in becoming the best. While Mohit rates himself eight on 10, he rates Sanaya 10 on 10 as a dancer.
The hosts then take us through Mohit Suri’s dance escapades in the season and everyone has a hearty laugh after which everyone dances to the popular number 'One Two Ka Four' from Ram Lakhan.
Anil calls all the contestants on the stage to dance on his song and have fun. Arjun then announces that they will perform on the title track of Mubarakan. Enter Athiya Shetty and Ileana D’Cruz with the male leads. Show host Karan Tacker then plays a video of Terence Lewis' that showcases his comfort in Hindi as he has used many difficult words during the show. Remo looks perplexed and wonders how Terence could speak such good Hindi. Terence then delivers an extraordinary act on 'Bolo Har Har' from Shivaay and a few other Bollywood numbers which is truly mesmerising.
Remo enters the stage to promote his dance reality show, Dance + 3 which starts next month. The choreographer demands a face- off between all the finalists. After Divyanka and Vivek, Sanam – Abigail enter the stage to flaunt their moves followed by Mohit and Sanaya’s performance, and one can see that Sanam-Abigail get more cheer as their moves look much more smooth and steps far interesting as compared to the other two couples.
Ileana is often seen looking amazed while Sanam-Abigail perform. Then comes the face-off between the finalists on the title track of Sultan and all three just kill it. We’ll have to wait for a day more to find out who the winner is!
