While the trailer of Munjya had garnered decent excitement among the cinegoers, it was a question of whether it would get footfalls since it has no big names. However, the film has surprised everyone with its novel concept and positive word of mouth as it has minted Rs 28.36 crore so far and collected Rs 4.21 crore on Tuesday.
With the feat, this horror-comedy is 2024’s third solid hit after Yami Gautam’s ‘Article 370’ and Ajay Devgn’s ‘Shaitaan. '
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar of Zombivli and Faster Fene, Munjya stars Abhay Verma, Sharvari Wagh, Mona Singh, Sathyaraj, Suhas Joshi, Bhagyashree Limaye and Taran Singh in prominent roles.
Talking about the review, Firstpost gave the film 3.5 stars and wrote, “The director takes you to the mysterious land of Konkan and makes you believe in the local legend and the cultural nuances of the place.
Film aces in the technical departments, especially in VFX, camera and SFX with crisp editing. Talking about the performances, everyone in the cast has done a splendid job but it’s a VFX character of Munjya, who has stolen the show.
Munjya is a theatrical experience and deserves a watch for its novelty and authenticity.”
