Mona Singh joins Rajkumar Hirani and Vikrant Massey's series after being replaced by Preity Zinta in Sunny Deol's 'Lahore 1947'

Mona Singh is on a roll with back-to-back projects like Laal Singh Chaddha, Kaala Paani on Netflix, and a stunning appearance in Made In Heaven. She was all set to be seen with Sunny Deol in Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Santoshi’s Lahore 1947 but was later replaced by Preity Zinta due to unknown reasons.

Times Of India now reports the actress has now come on board for Rajkumar Hirani and Vikrant Massey’s series. A source, while talking about Hirani’s OTT debut, said, “The show is not like a typical Bollywood project with a male and female lead. It has strong characters. One of the primary characters is played by Mona Singh.”

In an interview with Hindustan Times recently, she spoke about the two selfies with Shah Rukh Khan and Aryan Khan and how they went viral.

On his birthday, all his people were around, but no one was taking selfies. Because there were official photographers and we were told we’d get those pictures. By the time I got the chance to meet and wish him personally, none of the photographers were around. So I looked at him and said I needed a picture. He said, ‘I’m so sorry Mona, no selfies tonight.’ I was like I respect that.

The actress added that she couldn’t get a picture till 4 in the morning and before she was leaving, the actor called her and said, “Come here, do you know how talented you are?”

It was the grandest premiere any of us had been to. When the screening (The Archies) got over, I met and congratulated Zoya and the cast. I bumped into Aryan when I was leaving and told him his sister is so amazing in the movie. Then I told him let’s take a selfie. He graciously obliged, but I couldn’t get the angle right. He said, ‘Ma’am, it’s my job.’ And that’s how it happened, organically.
