Thiruvananthapuram: New films - Odiyan featuring superstar Mohanlal, and Aadhi featuring his 26-year-old son Pranav in the lead role - were launched at a grand event here. Mohanlal’s film is being directed by VA Sreekumar Menon, while his son’s film will be directed by Jeethu Joseph, under whom Pranav worked as an assistant director. “After hearing all the speeches about the films of my son and mine, for the first time in my life, I feel I am getting tensed,” said Mohanlal, while Pranav preferred to remain silent. Pranav has acted in films before but that was long back when he appeared as a child artiste and won the 2002 Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist for his role in the film Punarjani, directed by Major Ravi.
Mohanlal announced that his son Pranav will return as a lead actor 15 years after winning the Best Child Artist award at the Kerala State Film Awards for Punarjani.
