Mithun Chakraborty is out of ICU after suffering Ischemic Cerebrovascular Stroke, Debashree Roy shares health update

A day after suffering an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Stroke (Accident), actor-turned-politician, Mithun Chakraborty is feeling better and is now out of ICU. Actress Debashree Roy, who visited the actor at the hospital yesterday, told Times Now, “I also met Mithun in the hospital. He is better now, he was taken to the hospital in time and yes, his sugar levels had gone down. He was feeling quite uneasy. But now he is out of the ICU and recuperating in a room.” “Well, let me tell you that I have just come from the hospital. I met him and he is better. Mithun Da also said that he would resume shoot after a few days. He talked about the things he would be doing when he comes back on the sets,” filmmaker Pathikrit Basu said.

Yesterday, (10th February) Mithun Chakraborty was rushed to Apollo Hospital’s emergency unit in Kolkata. Later in the day, the hospital issued a statement and revealed about the stroke. “Shri Mithun Chakraborty (73), National Award-winning actor, was brought to the Emergency Department of Apollo Multispeciality Hospitals, Kolkata, around 9.40 am with complaints of weakness in the right upper and lower limbs. Necessary laboratory and radiology investigations were carried out including an MRI of the brain. He has been diagnosed with an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident (Stroke) of the brain. Presently, he is fully conscious, well-oriented and has consumed soft diet. Shri Chakraborty is being further evaluated by a team of doctors including a neuro-physician, cardiologist and a gastroenterologist,” the statement read. The actor was recently conferred with Padma Bhushan. He expressed his gratitude and said, “After a lot of struggle and hard work, I have finally received such an honour… It is a feeling I can’t express. I am dedicating this to all my fans in India and abroad, who have given me unconditional love.”
