Despite being a long weekend with Navrati, Durga Puja and Dusshera, Mirzya hasn't managed to gather any steam on the weekdays.
The total budget of the film is close to Rs 35 crore, and it was released in a total of 1,700 screens, reports IBT.
In an interview to The Hindu, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra spoke about the film's experience. "Mirzya is one of the greatest love stories ever told. What you feel is what you get out of it. It lets you breathe love in your own way. The beauty of the folklore also is that it has a strong female protagonist," he said.
While critics have praised the film for its cinematography and storyline, the film has failed to make a mark at the box office.
However, according to this Times of India report, Mehra is not concerned about raking in money at the domestic box office via theatrical collections. It is reported that the makers have already recovered Rs 21.5 crore from satellite and music rights.
