The Met Gala is touted to be the fashion world’s Academy Awards. The annual fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute brings together the biggest names in entertainment, fashion and politics for one night of revelry. Image from AFP.[/caption] Stars paid tribute to honoree Rei Kawakubo at the 2017 Met Gala, and the celebrities who wore pieces by the Commes des Garcons designer were among those who stood out the most. This year, Priyanka Chopra made a splashing entry at the Met Gala 2017, in a long brown trench coat dress by Ralph Lauren and an attitude to kill. She wore black heels with her eye-grabbing outfit, and it reminded us of her character Alex Parrish from Quantico. At the red carpet, the 34-year-old Quantico star posed with American musician Nick Jonas. The Met Gala 2012 was also attended by celebrities like Hugh Jackman, Pharrell Williams, Matt Damon, Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively along with husband Ryan Reynolds, Selena Gomez, Kendall, Kylie Jenner, Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady, and Sophie Turner. She has been lauded for her appearances at the People’s Choice Awards for two years in a row, the Oscars 2016 and countless other awards shows she’s attended. Priyanka Chopra has currently wrapped up season two of Quantico, and was in India recently to finalised some projects for Bollywood. It is alleged that will play Kalpana Chawla in a biopic on the Indian-American astronaut. She also plays Victoria Leeds in Baywatch, which is releasing this year in the summer, on June 2.
