Yes, you read it right. On Monday night, John Stamos admitted on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that everybody’s favorite show from the 90s, Full House is exclusively premiering on Netflix. “So I’m going to give you the exclusive. Literally 5 mins ago they (Netflix) called and sealed the deal. The original creators Jeff Franklin and Tom Miller and all of us wanted to do a sort of spin off, and we wanted to give credit to the legacy, and so Netflix came around and said let’s do 13 episodes,” said Stamos, adding, “So it starts as a reunion and then you have Candice (DJ), and Jodie (Stephanie) and Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibler). Candace has 3 boys so it’s sort of a role reversal.” [caption id=“attachment_2205676” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] The Full House case in New York. Premiering in 2016, a pregnant and recently widowed DJ Tanner now lives in San Francisco with Stephanie, who is an aspiring musician, and single mother Kimmy. They all move in together, with kids in tow, to help DJ raise her 3 kids, almost like a redux of the original series. In a joint statement published in The Verge, executive producers Robert L. Boyett, Thomas L. Miller and Jeff Franklin said, “The continued support of Full House fans of all ages for the last 28 years has been astounding. It is an honor and a thrill to catch up with these beloved characters and explore their lives today. The love you saw on the show was real. The cast has remained a loving family off screen all these years. We are as excited as our fans to finally bring Full House back to life.” So the big question is whether the Olsen twins will return to the show too. Stamos responds to our casting doubts in the Jimmy Kimmel interview. “If we can’t get the Olsen twins, we’re going to dress you up,” Stamos joked to Kimmel. He then added, “We’re going to try and get everyone for an hour-long special first, and then we’ll move to the spin off.” Watch John Stamos’ official announcement here:
