Kangana Ranaut, a versatile actress and BJP MP from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh reacted to the shocking murder case of Raja Raghuvanshi, who was killed by his wife Sonam Raghuvanshi during their honeymoon in Meghalaya.
Calling the incident ‘absurd’, Kangana took to Instagram stories and wrote, “How absurd is this!! Woman can’t say no to marriage because she is scared of her own parents but she can plan a cold blooded murder with supari killers this has been on my mind since morning but not able to wrap my head around it !!! Uuffff getting a headache now!! She couldn’t even divorce or run away with her lover. How cruel, heinous and above all absurd and dumb. Dumb people should never be taken lightly they are the biggest threat to any society… we often laugh at them and think they are harmless but it’s not true, intelligent people may damage others for their own good but remember a dumb person has no idea what they are doing !!! Be aware very aware of dumbness around you."
Who was Raja Raghuvanshi?
He was a businessman from Indore, who was in Meghalaya with his wife Sonam for their honeymoon. On May 23 while visiting the scenic Weisawdong Falls near Sohra (Cherrapunji), the couple went missing. Ten days later, the body of Raja was found in a deep gorge on 2nd June. Post Sonam failed to report his disappearance and went missing herself, the case became suspicious.
Several individuals were taken into custody during the investigation of Raja’s murder in Meghalaya. Sonam, who was identified as the prime suspect, surrendered to police in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh.
Others, who were arrested in the case were Akash Rajput, 19, was arrested in Lalitpur (U.P.), while Vishal Singh Chauhan, 22, and Raj Singh Kushwaha, 21, were detained in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Anand Kurmi, 23, was apprehended in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh.
As per the police, all four people have allegedly confessed to being hired by Sonam to kill her husband during their trip to Meghalaya.
The police suspect an extramarital affair behind the motive of murder along with potential financial and personal reasons.
The case is now handled by a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
