Have you ever been stumped upon and asked who your favorite villain is? It is a fair question after all; if you can have a favorite actor or director, why not a favorite villain? What if we told you there’s a six minute video that can make your selection process easier? [caption id=“attachment_2385900” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Screen grab from the video.[/caption] Youtube channel CLS Videos has compiled some of the best villains in cinema. The video is quite comprehensive, coupled with scenes from films as well. Their description reads something like this: “Do we really appreciate our scoundrels more than our saints? In movies we most often do.This video weaves together years of memorable and iconic villains into a four-part montage that highlights the truly “worst of the worst.” Present in the video are scenes from some of the most iconic films like Godfather, Lord Of The Rings, The Shining, Inglorious Basterds, Iron Man, Kill Bill, The Dark Knight and many others. The tone of the video changes in about three minutes giving us the more lighter villains of cinema, mostly from comedy films (we’re using the term villains here very loosely). So look out for Jennifer Aniston from Horrible Bosses, and Gru from Despicable Me. Snippets of Heath Ledger, Jack Nicholson, The Witch King of Angmar are enough to give you goosebumps, but the robbers from Home Alone or Angelina Jolie in Maleficent also remind you that not all “villains” are evil. Look out for Amrish Puri from his Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom avatar and Jared Leto from Suicide Squad in the video, as well. Mash all these visuals with dialogues from the films, (for example: “The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he doesn’t exist” from The Usual Suspects) with some trippy music, and you get 6 minutes of villain-heaven. Essentially, if you want a crash course in the bad guys of cinema (largely Hollywood), this is the video you should watch:
