Manoj Goyal's wife Neelima Rani found hanging in Mumbai residence; police suspect suicide

Television actor Manoj Goyal’s wife Neelima Rani was found hanging from a ceiling fan in their Kandivali residence on Saturday, 29 July. Twitter[/caption] The Samta Nagar police have filed an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in the matter as they found a suicide note claiming that the woman ended her life as she was suffering from depression. DNA reports that when Manoj and Neelima’s daughter returned from her tuition to the residence, her mother did not answer the door bell. So the daughter used the keys to open the door but found Neelima and Manoj’s bedroom locked from the inside. She informed the same to their neighbours who then informed the Samnta Nagar police. After the bedroom door was broken open, Neelima was found hanging on a ceiling fan. The Asian Age quotes Dilip Yadav, senior police officer, Samta Nagar police station, as saying, “Prima facie it is a suicide as we have also found a suicide note at the spot, but the investigation is underway. The incident took place on Saturday, but an ADR was registered early on Sunday.” The same report states that Neelima explicitly mentioned in her suicide note that no one else is to be blamed for her death. “The deceased’s husband said she was depressed for the last few days. The suicide note also said she is taking the extreme step because she is depressed,” said Dilip, as per the same report. Though the police have filed an ADR in the case, they will investigate Neelima’s family members as part of investigation. Manoj Goyal is known for his comedy shows on SAB TV, like Golmal Hai Bhai Sab Golmal Hai and Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hai. He was away for work when Neelima reportedly ended her life.
