Mammootty begins shooting for his fifth film of the year, The Great Father

Malayalam superstar Mammootty turned 65 on Wednesday, but age does not seem to be slowing him down. After releasing four films already this year and the fifth to release this weekend, the Kasaba actor has begun working on his next The Great Father. On Wednesday the actor shared the first look of the film on Facebook.

The film began its shoot on Saturday.   The Times of India had earlier reported that the film will be shot in different parts of Kerala like Thrissur, Wagamon and Kochi. Backed by big names like Shaji Nadesan, actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, Santhosh Sivan, and Tamil actor Arya, the film is said to be a family drama-thriller. Reports suggest that Arya might be seen playing a negative role in the film. IANS had reported, “Arya has been finalised as the villain. Unlike the regular portrayal of baddies in southern cinema, his role will stand out and appeal to the audiences. He is expected to join the sets soon.” Mammukka, as he is fondly called by his fans,  had earlier revealed the poster of the film on Facebook.

Directed by debutant Haneef Adeni, the film will see actress Sneha coming back on screen after her brief maternity break.
