Mallika Sherawat faces criminal complaint for 'wearing' national flag

Mallika Sherawat and the makers of her next film Dirty Politics are in trouble as a criminal complaint has been filed against them for depicting the actress “draped in the colours of the Indian national flag,” says a  Hindustan Times report. The report says that the complaint was filed by “24-year-old law graduate, Sumit Kumar” in New Delhi and accused “the producers of the movie, lead actress Sherawat and director KC Bokadia of insulting the nation’s honour”. Kumar insisted that this was not a publicity stunt, adds the report. In the poster we can see Mallika sitting atop an Ambassador car with the tricolour draped around her. The background of the poster features the State Legislative Assembly of Rajasthan. Mallika Sherawat is shown flaunting her toned legs with a CD in her hand. One can’t see the Chakra on the flag, though. Her husband alleged that she was abducted by Mahipal Maderna, who was the Water Resources Minister in the then government of Rajasthan led by Ashok Gehlot. Director K C Biokadia has clarified that the film is not about a murdered nurse but rather it is inspired by the real life case of Bhanwari Devi.
