by The Indian Express, the actor had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kochi. On 5 April, at 3.40 am the actor passed away. Ajith debuted in 1983 film Parannu Parannu Parannu directed by Padmarajan. In a career spanning over 34 years, he has acted in multiple south Indian languages and in over 500 films. Particularly in his early years, and even later on, he was primarily seen in villainous and supporting roles. He was the lead actor in the 1989 film Agnipravesham directed by CP Vijayakumar. Some of his most popular on-screen appearances were from the films like Yuvajanotsavam, Nadodikkattu, No. 20 Madras Mail, Nirnayam, Aaraam Thampuran, Olympiyan Anthony Adam and Valliettan to name a few.
