Lucifer teaser: Mohanlal's intense avatar of Stephen Nedumpally paints an unapologetic picture of power

Malayalam film Lucifer marks the directorial debut of Prithviraj Sukumaran. The teaser of the film, featuring Mohanlal as Stephen Nedumpally, was launched by Mammootty on Thursday. The superstar shared the teaser on his Facebook page and asked fans to watch it.

YouTube screengrab[/caption] By the looks of it, Mohanlal’s character may be somewhat of a corrupt politician. The intense teaser depicts Mohanlal walking in slow motion, as the priest’s voice plays in the background advising Nedumpally to confess to all his sins. “If you will never come back again, then confess your sins and find peace before you leave.” Stephen replies, “I can only confess for the sins I have committed father, not for the ones I am about to commit." The exchange forms the main foundation of the teaser. Mohanlal is then seen walking out of the courtroom in a vintage ambassador with number plate of 666, often considered the number of the devil. Prithviraj recently posted a heartwarming message marking Mohanlal’s shooting wrap.
