Love And War: After Animal, Ranbir Kapoor to play a character with grey shades in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial?

After sharing a glimpse of the majestic world of Heeramandi, Sanjay Leela Bhansali recently announced his big-ticket movie titled Love And War featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. The film will go on floors by the end of this year with a marathon schedule. Now as per the latest reports, the movie will be a love triangle with a backdrop of war and will see RK in the shades of grey. “ _Love And War_ is essentially a love triangle with war in its backdrop. Ranbir’s performance in Animal blew SLB’s mind away. While Love And War is an action love story on the face of it, the inter-character dynamic holds key importance. While Alia and Vicky’s part have their own share of challenges in terms of performances, SLB over the years was looking to find a face for the role that Ranbir is doing at the moment,” said a source to PinkVilla.

Talking about RK’s character the source added, “It’s a twisted grey character and warrants the presence of someone who is not just a great actor but also a superstar. It has elements of heroism but deep within lies the psychic undertones. It’s a solid subject with strong scope for performance and that’s what has excited both Ranbir and SLB to reunite after 17 long years.”

The film marks the second collaboration between SLB and Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt after Saawariya and Gangubai Kathiawadi. While Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt previously worked together in Brahmastra: Part 1 - Shiva, the TJMM actor collaborated with Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju. The film will be made on a large scale and will hit the screens in December 2025 during the Christmas weekend.
