Letitia Wright, Lakeith Stanfield, Barry Keoghan among BAFTA's 2019 Rising Star nominees

BAFTA has revealed the nominations for its Rising Star award  for2019.  Black Panther  star Letitia Wright and _ Sorry To Bother You ’s Lakeith Stanfield are among the nominees for BAFTA’s coveted Rising Star Award.  Unlike all the other categories, the winner for Rising star is chosen by the public. Image via Twitter[/caption] The other nominees include Widows actor Cynthia Erivo, American Animals’ Barry Keoghan and Jessie Buckley, who appeared in the 2018 film Beast. Wright had previously earned an Emmy nomination for her 2017 role in Black Mirror. According to th_e Independent, after being nominated, Wright mentioned that it was an ”incredible feeling”, adding: “It means a lot that my work has been recognized, especially in the country I’ve grown up in, and that I get to share this recognition with so many talented actors.” Atlanta star Stanfield was recently been seen in Boots Riley’s acclaimed _Sorry to Bother You_ , alongside Tessa Thompson, who was nominated for the Rising Star Award last year. In 2018, Daniel Kaluuya won the honor for his breakout performance in Get Out, which also featured Stanfield. This year’s nominees were selected by Bodyguard‘s Richard Madden, actor Rosamund Pike, broadcaster Edith Bowman and Marcella star Ray Panthaki.
