Lakmé Fashion Week Day 5: An evening with Shilpa Shetty, Dia Mirza, Ranbir Kapoor
Lakmé Fashion Week's last day was a star studded event as the best designers adorned their celebrity muses in couture designs for maximum impact.
While Bipasha Basu, Illeana D'Cruz, Emraan Hashmi and Kareena Kapoor walked the ramps for their favourite designers, this was also the first time Fashion Week showcased designer collections for plus size models and kids, marking this seasonal event as a pioneer.
The day started with a show from Riddhi Mehra's collection titled 'Arcadia' which focused on Indo-western wear like ghararas with short tops and gowns with zardosi embroidery. The leading lady of the box-office hit Rustom, Illeana D'Cruz, graced the ramp in a rust coloured ghaghra choli with heavy gold embroidery.
Swati Vijaivargie showcased her Rajasthani heritage in her collection 'Raas', which was inspired by Gopashtami Pichwai paintings of Nathdwara in Rajasthan.
Raw silks and luminous chanderi blouses dominated Vineet Rahul's collection. Titled 'Lakshmi', he showcased fluid silhouettes embroidered with zardosi.
'The Wedding Chronicle' by Anushree Reddy displayed minimalist designs with a classic twist. Reddy's signature use of red was visible throughout the collection, especially in Shilpa Shetty Kundra's zardosi embroidered lehenga.

Amoh by Jade had Mohenjo Daro's heroine Pooja Hegde turn showstopper for the 'Itvara' collection. Handloom fabrics like silks, linens and cottons were beautifully made into feminine silhouettes.
SVA by Sonam and Paras Modi was a colourful collection with intricate traditional designs. Prachi Desai graced the runway as the showstopper with a black off-shoulder blouse with silver embroidery.
Little Shilpa, best known for her accessories, curated designs for the plus size label 'aLL'. The designs ranged from high street casual to daily athletic. Navy blue, black and denim dominated the scene.
Hamleys curated a show by Diesel. Preteens graced the ramp in chic and colourful clothes. The highlight of the show was Emraan Hashmi coming in at the end dressed in identical clothes with his son Ayaan Hashmi.
The collection by Tulsi Silks titled 'Woven Tales of Kanchipuram' showcased different aspects of the 6-yard Kanchivaram. Dia Mirza looked stunning in a black Kanchivaram with a red border.
Kunal Rawal stunned the crowd with his menswear collection titled 'Role Play'. The collection showcased bold shades of wine and champagne to neutrals like ivory, charcoal and olive. Ranbir Kapoor walked the ramp as the showstopper.
Saroj Jalan’s called ‘Gulzar’ had Radhika Apte walk as the ramp in a zardosi heavy outfit.
Assam silk met southern temple motifs in Sanjukta Dutta's collection. Showstopper Bipasha Basu walked the ramp for the designer.
Sumona Parekh highlighted motifs in her collection with Sophie Choudry as the showstopper.
Karisma Kapoor stunned the crowd in a red gown for Architha Narayanam's collection.
A very radiant Kareena Kapoor stole the show in Sabyasanchi's grand finale in a bridal lehenga. The designer showcased a collection of lehengas, saris, dresses and a few designs from the menswear collection at the finale show.
