Hrithik Roshan is back, and this time, you get two of him for the price of one in the third film of the Krrish franchise. In Krrish, we saw Roshan Krrish (aka Krishna) rescue his father Rohit (also played by Roshan and introduced to us in Koi Mil Gaya) from evil scientist Dr Siddhant Arya’s trap. Krrish 3 takes off where Krrish ended. [caption id=“attachment_1011731” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] A still from Krrish 3.[/caption] While we don’t know what happened to Krrish 2, here’s what we do know. The father-son duo (both roles played by Roshan) are one not-so-big happy family. Rohit conducts experiments and ends up figuring out how Jadoo ( remember the alien from Koi Mil Gaya?) used solar energy. This, it seems doesn’t go down so well with some evil people, and as a result, Krrish ends up jumping from one skyscraper to the other. In other news, Krrish (Roshan ) is now happily married to his Priya (Priyanka Chopra, reprising the role of Krrish’s love interest), which is why we get a glimpse of the two lip locking. However, there’s more to life than lip locks and successful science experiments. Evil forces are getting ready to take over the world. Kangana Ranaut plays the role of an alien and looks seriously sexy in body hugging suits. Viveik Oberoi’s character is the evil Kaal and he’s saddled with Iron Man’s rejected suit, from the look of things. Minus the metal, Kaal with this square jaws, scary eyes and purple lips has more make-up on his face than a kabuki actor and looks a little bit like a runaway character from Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. As Kaal takes over the world – we know he does because there’s mass destruction and lots of swirling clouds – it’s Krrish and Rohit to the rescue. Krrish’s wardrobe, sadly, hasn’t seen an upgrade. The only difference we could see is that the bottom of his black coat now has a skirt-like flare. Krrish 3’s trailer is definitely stylish and you will find yourself remembering superhero films like The Avengers, Dark Knight and the Superman films. Let’s hope the script doesn’t plunge into the deep end, and if it has to, hopefully, it’ll do it with the way Ranaut jumps off skyscrapers – weird, but still kinda cool. Produced and directed by Rakesh Roshan, Krrish 3 is set to have a Diwali release this year.
