Koffee with Karan Season 5: Aamir Khan follows Salman Khan as guest; Dangal star to appear solo

Aamir Khan’s wish has been granted. No, Dangal is not India’s official entry to the Oscars. Rather, filmmaker Karan Johar has invited Aamir to grace the couch on his chat show Koffee with Karan Season 5. This time, when his name did not surface in the early list of the guests on Season 5, the media could not help but ask him if his appearance on the last season had backfired. The Times of India reports that Aamir had expressed his desire to be on the show again though he had voiced his reservations against the format of the show in the past. “I would definitely want to go to Koffee With Karan but he is not calling me. Please ask Karan to invite me,” Aamir had said, according to the report. Johar seems to have taken note as he has invited Aamir to go solo on his show. DNA reports that Aamir will not share the couch with any other guest this season barring a short segment with his Dangal co-stars Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra. The report also suggests that Aamir is scheduled to shoot for his episode this weekend and it will air on the next Sunday, five days before the release of Dangal. This Sunday, however, will mark the 100th episode of Koffee with Karan and will see the three Khan brothers — Salman, Arbaaz and Sohail appear together on Johar’s show. A mong other episodes that have been shot but remain to be scheduled are the ones with Kareena Kapoor Khan-Sonam Kapoor, Kapil Sharma, Shahid Kapoor-Mira Rajput and Sania Mirza-Farah Khan. Priyanka Chopra is also rumoured to appear solo on the show while her Hollywood contemporary Deepika Padukone will seemingly make a joint appearance with her xXx: The Return of Xander Cage co-star Vin Diesel.
