On Shah Rukh Khan’s 60th birthday (2nd November), the makers of his upcoming biggie King unveiled the massy title teaser, which dominated all social media platforms in no time. However, SRK’s styling look grabbed headlines for its striking resemblance to Brad Pitt’s avatar in F1.
While some fans argued that Bollywood took ‘inspiration’, a certain section called it a blatant copy. Later, a tweet surfaced online with three images together: Shah Rukh from Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017), Brad Pitt’s look from F1 , and SRK’s viral first look from King. It was captioned, “Funny logic by haters these days. If Bollywood movie has: Fighter Jet – Copy of Top Gun – Ship – Copy of Titanic – Same dress code – Copy of F1 – Orange Dress – Anti-Hindu – Their IQ level is like – buffering since 1947."
The filmmaker reacted with laughing emojis and an “okay" gesture, which clearly shows that he is unaffected by the trolling or comparison on social media.
King, which marks Siddharth Anand and Shah Rukh Khan’s reunion after Pathaan, is set to hit the screens in 2026. It also features Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Abhay Verma in prominent roles.
The film is produced by Gauri Khan, Siddharth Anand and Mamta Anand under the banners of Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures.
Apart from Hindi, King will also release in the dubbed versions of Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, English, and many international languages. The music of the film is given by Anirudh, who previously worked with SRK in Jawan.
