Khoon Aali Chithi trailer: Richa Chadha's short film offers grim look at '90s Punjab
The trailer of Richa Chadha's debut production Khoon Aali Chithi tells a story that escalates from being sweet and romantic to serious and tragic rather quickly.
In the trailer, we see a young sardar waxing poetic as he writes a letter to his beloved, telling her that he could kill someone for her, but that he cannot write her letters in blood. We also see shots of this sardar encountering some shifty men and locking himself up in a room.
This short film premiered at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. The name of the film translates to 'Written in Blood'.
Khoon Aali Chithi explores the story of an innocent love story set against the backdrop of the turmoil in Punjab in the early Nineties, which ends in tragic circumstances. Directed by Rupinder Inderjit, it will release on 25 April 2017.
Richa Chadha was last seen in Sarbjit, directed by Omung Kumar. Her upcoming projects include Fukrey 2, Love Sonia and a musical inspired by Bollywood films, where she stars with Ali Fazal and Michael Jackson's daughter Paris.
