Yash-starrer KGF: Chapter 1 surpassed its opening day collections on Day 5, raking in Rs 4.30 cr for its Hindi version

The box office collections for Yash's Christmas weekend offering KGF: Chapter 1 has been on a steady rise since it hit the theatres on 21 December. The Hindi version of the action-extravaganza earned Rs 4.30 crore on Christmas Day, surpassing its collections since the opening day.

The Kannada film, as per India Today, has even crossed the much-hyped Shah Rukh Khan film Zero. Moreover, it has also become the highest grosser in US for a Kannada film.

The Hindi-dubbed film, which opened with Rs 2.10 crores has continued its momentum despite competition from Zero and the Dhanush-fronted Maari 2.
KGF is the biggest film ever produced in the history of Kannada cinema, and is being compared to Baahubali in terms of grandeur and scale. Interestingly, the film has garnered immense success in Karnataka and is only second to SS Rajamouli's duology.
The big-budget action film also stars Ramya Krishnan, Anant Nag and Achyuth Kumar, apart from Yash.
