Kaun Banega Crorepati season 9 to go off air, will be replaced by Zayed Khan's TV debut Haasil

The fans of the iconic show Kaun Banega Crorepati, Season 9 have known for sometime that the latest season will have a finite number of episodes. However, that won’t lessen the disappointment of the season ending this week. It has been reported that the show will be replaced by two new daily soaps – Haaasil and Ek Deewana Tha starting October 23, 2017. [caption id=“attachment_448632” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]AFP Amitabh Bachchan hosts Kaun Banega Crorepati[/caption] Hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, Kaun Banega Crorepati 9 proved to be one of the most successful offerings of the franchise for Sony Entertainment Television, topping the TRP viewership charts this year and catapulting the channel the number one slot too. The show has gone on to become the most watched reality show on television today, leaving the usual fan favourite Big Boss 11, hosted by Salman Khan behind. The September 2, 2017 episode featuring Anand Kumar, the mathematician and founder of the extraordinary Super 30 educational programme, helped the show hit the number 1 slot earlier this month, as reported by Hindustan Times, prompting a surprised-sounding tweet from the show’s superstar host Amitabh Bachchan.

With two new shows replacing Kaun Banega Crorepati 9, the channel is hoping to lure audiences with the small screen launch of the actor Zayed Khan in Haasil and the return of Namik Paul to television with Ek Deewana Tha. The television debut of the Hindi film actor Zayed Khan, who has been missing from the cinema halls for quite some time now, has been in news and his re-launch is being awaited with interest. In the meantime, fans can still catch Kaun Banega Crorepati 9 till its final episode, and is telecast Monday through Friday at 9 pm on Sony TV. The show also streams online at Sony LIV.
