Pop superstar Katy Perry turned months of romance rumours into a public confirmation. She officially announced her relationship with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau via Instagram. On December 6, 2025, Perry posted a carousel of photos and videos from a recently concluded trip to Tokyo, where the two appear together publicly for the first time on her social media.

Russel Brand, during a brief onstage appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest conference in Phoenix, without mincing his words, was quoted saying, “I was married to Katy Perry… I was okay with Orlando Bloom, but Justin Trudeau? Come on, man. Don’t put me in a category with that guy! That globalist stooge.”

In the post, Perry captioned the gallery, “Tokyo times on tour and more ( ◠‿◠ ),” followed by a bunch of emojis. Among the snapshots are warm selfies of the pair cheek-to-cheek beneath autumnal Tokyo foliage, images of them dining together, and moments at an interactive art exhibit, including one where Trudeau watches fondly while Perry samples sushi.

The reveal came just days after the couple appeared together publicly at a diplomatic lunch in Tokyo with former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife. Kishida, on social media, referred to Perry as Trudeau’s “partner,” which became a talking point worldwide.

Although their relationship had been the subject of speculation since the summer when they were first spotted dining together in Montréal, this Instagram post is the first time Perry has acknowledged the romance. Previously, the duo had been seen holding hands during a night out in Paris on October 25, 2025, when Perry celebrated her 41st birthday, but neither had formally addressed their relationship.
